Rather Be Plumbing
This excellent Victoria plumbing company is the owner of one of my custom websites. I went through two revisions, with the second revision being what you see now. The website has a home page and then detail pages for specific services. Across pages, the layout & SEO is consistent. The layout is carefully optimized for mobile viewing. The homepage features an image carousel which responds to touch gestures & uses spring simulations. This feature adds a lot of life to the website. My goal with most of my work is to add life, to add vigour and excitement to my products. I would never suggest this plumbing website represents that idea perfectly, but it shows a bit of that thinking.
Technology
It is built using Gatsby, which is a quite nice-to-use NextJS competitor. Gatsby has great blur-up images, but I found their image components cumbersome to use.
Design
I did the design entirely myself, and was able to salvage some components from the first, now-obsolete design from 2019. I believe we will be redesigning this website in 2024.
